Recs!
[This is re-posted from my personal journal, now with my commentary!]
These are (mostly) gen, and if there are pairings, they are implied, incidental, or just barely getting started (basically, they are not the focus of the story). I've recced some of these before, but they're so good, I'm sharing them again.

Steve Rogers was an artist, so they put him on making training films for the war effort. In Hollywood, the military had taken over the Disney backlot. In New York, they commandeered the remaining staff of Marvelous Inkwells Studio.
(Somewhat AU from the film canon, but only in the attempt to write a more naturalistic story for Steve Rogers).
This is one of the first MCU stories I read, and I hold it in my heart as canon. I think the other stories in this series are slash, but this one is entirely gen.

Darcy gets super powers. For a given value of "super".
Crossover with Puma-man. Also, hilarious.

Steve Rogers is no stranger to the silver screen.
I adore this story, because Steve + Hollywood = OTP. And team bonding over things from Steve's time is also pretty fantastic. This is a delight, and the last film makes me so happy.

In an age of costumed heroes and alien invasions, Ben Parker is the President America needs - a reassuring presence in the White House, and a hero to the West Wing staff. His nephew Peter, however...
Crossover/fusion with The West Wing, obviously. It's from CJ Cregg's POV, and there is skateboarding through the White House and superhero shenanigans and also Captain America being stern but hot.

Five times Maria Hill doesn’t understand Natasha Romanoff, and why she might be better off that way.
I know this story has already been recced here, but I don't care. It is the story that made me fall in love with Maria Hill as a character, and it deserves to be read by everyone.

Heroes In Manhattan: From Captain America's Hidden Talents To The Truth About The Hulk, We Debunk The Myths And Expose The Daily Lives Of The Avengers.
This one is written in the style of a long-form news article. It starts off with Avengers team bonding via midnight baseball in the Tower gym. What more could you possibly want?

Steve Rogers: soldier, artist, foodie, friend, heart of the Avengers, and a guy whose past keeps creeping into his present and dictating his future. A series of stories about him and the people he has chosen to build his life around.
A comics-MCU mashup that is MCU-compliant through all of the Phase One movies then gets a little Brubakerish because the alternative was to get a lot Jossed.
This is the series I rec to absolutely everyone because it is hands-down the best (THE BEST) series out there. It's 400k+ of Steve Rogers learning about the 21st century, Natasha figuring out her place in things, and a hunt for the Winter Soldier (written pre-Cap 2 but diverging from canon in different ways). It features Steve Rogers: Foodie, Peggy Carter: Nonagenarian Badass, and Avengers: Haphazardly Assembled. It also has some of the best OCs I have ever seen (I fully believe that when they walk off the scene they go on to have their own lives). Seriously, if you only read one MCU fanfic in your life, it should be this one.

Edit: Also, I had added other tags besides the ones that are showing (ones for Thor, Peter Parker, etc.), but they seem not to have taken. I'm guessing that's something you'll have to set up?
