Peggy moving on and living her life. Great little character moments.

More Bucky-as-metaphorical-feral-cat recovery fic. Cameos from Tony, Natasha, Bruce and Sam.
Steve knows that when Bucky says do you remember these days, what he really means is that really happened, didn’t it, it’s a real memory?

The Elephant Kids by [archiveofourown.org profile] Pyrosane
I just love the atmosphere and the emotional resonance in this one.
The first time Steve ever stole a car, he had no idea what he was getting himself into. Bucky had pitched the thought and whatever Bucky pitched was what happened next, because Bucky may have been an idiot but he also knew what it meant to be alive.

Count the Cost by [archiveofourown.org profile] katydidmischief
Homeless Bucky on the run seems to be a thing now. What I like about this is how the search for Bucky and the need to give him space coexist.
He tries to strangle Steve every time the man appears over the intervening weeks: he trashes two televisions and half a dozen radios, his reaction escalating to Rogers' own image or voice.

I also want to remind folks that we've got an open call for links to icons that has already yielded some pretty excellent finds. \o/

[This is re-posted from my personal journal, now with my commentary!]

These are (mostly) gen, and if there are pairings, they are implied, incidental, or just barely getting started (basically, they are not the focus of the story). I've recced some of these before, but they're so good, I'm sharing them again.

Hi all! I'm thrilled to get this party started. Let's shake out a few. Please feel free to add your own, either in new posts or in the comments!

The Care and Feeding of Traumatized Assassins by [archiveofourown.org profile] sholio
I'm super into these Winter Soldier fix-it fics, and this one does a nice job of mimicking the film's way of making Bucky present by making him absent. Also a good take on how to deal with who Bucky is now. Features Steve, Sam and Natasha, to great effect.
By the third or fourth time that he comes home to the feeling of not-quite-right, the unsettling sense that things in the apartment have been moved around, he's gone from suspicion to a dead certainty.

Sharon Carter/Agent 13 POV and backstory! Talks about her relationship with SHIELD, Peggy and the events of Cap 2.
Sharon Carter grew up knowing the feel of bullets in her fingers, not rosaries. She learned Mandarin, German and Japanese, not Latin, because Latin was a dead language and Sharon, even at eight, knew her work would be for the living.

In the Land That Our Grandchildren Knew by [archiveofourown.org profile] domarzione
So Domenika Marzione has written more than 400K about Team Cap. This is a rich, interesting (and only 15K) look at Bucky both before he enlists (or was drafted, depending on who you ask) and through the experiments Hydra performs on him in the first movie.
Once they'd saved up enough cash, it took them more than a month to find a day to get out to the World's Fair.
